The review
You are paying for the navigation more than the cleaning. My tests make the strongest case for a cluttered home with toys, cables or pets. High-pile carpets and stubborn dried stains are less convincing reasons to choose it.
Strengths
- The best navigation I have tested, with confident obstacle avoidance.
- Good hard-floor pickup and excellent handling of a thin rug without bunching it up.
- No hair tangles after around six weeks in a household with long hair.
Limitations
- It got stuck twice on a high-pile carpet, with the brush caught in the pile.
- Dried ketchup and jam needed around five passes in my stain test.
- The side brush cannot lift and can smear sticky stains. Dock cycles are noisy and long.
